Cinemax's 'BLANCO' Cast Leads

Franka Potente, Amaury Nolasco and Elizabeth Rodriguez Cast In Cinemax Pilot ‘Blanco

Cinemax's Blanco drama pilot led by Shiloh Fernandez has rounded out its cast.

Franka Potente (The Bourne Identity), Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break) and Erik LaRay Harvey (Boardwalk Empire) are among seven new additions to the one-hour project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Also joining the ensemble are Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange Is the New Black), Sebastian Arcelus (House of Cards), Audrey Esparza (The Following) and Alex Hernandez (Law and Order: SVU).

Blanco centers on an uptown gangster Ruben (Fernandez), nicknamed Blanco for being a light-skinned Dominican, who uses his status as a confidential informant to turn the tables on law enforcement and build his criminal empire.

The character breakdowns are as follows:

Franka Potente will play Blanco's girlfriend Leslee;

Elizabeth Rodriguez will portray NYPD Detective Stephanie Gomez;

Audrey Esparza will play Blanco's brother's girlfriend Veronica;

Arcelus will lay down the law as Blanco's lawyer Andy Silver;

Nolasco will be Blanco's brother Jesus;

Harvey has been cast as NYPD Detective Mike LeBeau; and

Hernandez is Blanco's associate Nando.

Mark Rosner wrote the pilot, which will be directed by 28 Weeks Later's Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Rosner will serve as executive producer, with Lakeshore Entertainment's Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg, as well as Fresnadillo.

Fox Television Studios and Lakeshore Entertainment produce for Cinemax.

Should Blanco be given a series greenlight, it would join Banshee and the outgoing Strike Back on the pay cabler's slate.

Potente -- who segues from British series Copper -- is repped by Gersh and Thruline, Nolasco is repped by Gersh and Untitled, Harvey -- whose character was killed off on HBO's Boardwalk Empire -- is repped by Prestige and Harden-Curtis Associates, Rodriguez is repped by Stone Manners Salners and Opus, Arcelus is repped by Paradigm, Esparza is repped by Innovative Artists and ATA Management and Hernandez is repped by Harden-Curtis.

The good news is that there will be couple of sex scenes with outright nudity. Franka Potente role requires full-frontal nudity in the pilot shoot. The show is casting another key role (Ruben's mistress
f*cktoy. A voluptuous Dominican with model-like proportions) requiring full nudity and sex scenes. The other gals in the cast should sign on for nudity clause if it receives series order.
The bad news is that they are casting for a Body Double - for Potente - to perform the nude/sex scene.
