Amy Diaz: The Amazing Racer

Miss Rhode Island USA 2008 and Miss Earth United States 2009 Amy Diaz: The Amazing Racer

Have boobs, will travel. Finally broke my winless streak on Amazing Race by rooting for the right team. More precisely for Amy Diaz and her magnificent tatas. Amy proved to the world she was no eye candy by constantly winning her share of detours through hard work and brainpower. She's also the perfect example of nice guys do finish first. She assisted another team member Nicole in completing couple of tasks despite BF Jason getting on her case for wasting time. Both of them are deserved winners of  The Amazing Race [Season 23]. The runners-up Marie Mazzocchi and Timothy Sweeney were irritating at first but Marie grew on me with her sunny smile. She is a smart cookie as well. However, the 23rd. edition will always be remembered for Travis the asshole. Christ, the guy was a serious asshole and world-class hypocrite. Constantly pointing out that Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran were liars. He conspired with other teams in making sure the Afghanimals are booted out. But apparently cheating was okay in Travis code of ethics as a Christian. He urged his wife Nicole to copy Leo's completed task but the latter wasn't having it. Travis saved the worst for Nicole. Constantly berating his wife with comments bordering on disrespectful, condescending and put-downs masked in shallow words of encouragement. She was a broken shell, a wrecked in the finale. They have 5-kids together by the way. I'm glad Afghanimals are coming back for the winter All-star edition (24th). They have this honest, infectious enthusiasm you rarely see in a team. Pity they had to endure subtle racism and isolation by other teams except for the L.A blondes. Kudos to Amazing Race producers for taking a brave step in casting couple of Arabs and sending the duo to countries that isn't exactly receptive to their kind.
Though I was cringing every time Leo and Jamal ululated at airports. If not for the cams following them, imagine the reaction by the folks when they see a pair of Arabs with backpacks jumping around, hearing that familiar and fear-inducing ululation.
