I: Are you speaking in polish in home?
Y: Yes, we speak in polish in home and I went to polish school every saturday, I can write and read in polish, maybe not that good as I read and write in english, but I can speak with my family who lives in Warsaw
I: It is the first time when you give an interview in polish?
Y: The first time in polish (laughter;) I never in my live have been interviewed in polish, so I don't know how it will go
I: And polish food and dishes are something you have to deal with?
Y: Yes, the last Christams Eve, was the first time I was alone, I always spend it with parents or family, so it was the first time when I have to prepared traditional polish dishes. So I've done herrings, Greek fish. Unfortunately the dumplings I've bought in polish market and Borsch I also bought.
I: I've heard that you always, in every talk and interview, you talk about Poland and polish traditions and polish origin, so I think You are proud of it?
Y: Yes, I'm proud - this is my history. I'm Australian but my blood is polish. When 7 years ago I moved to the USA, they wanted me to change my last name - Strzechowski, cuz it's very complicated...
I: ...becouse of "rz"?
Y: "rz" and "ch" and they said to me to change it to something completely different, but I don't wanted it, cuz this is my origin and I want to keep it: my history and my origin
