“Game of Thrones” Casts Key Season Three Characters
Rigg’s character will be revealed during the third season of the drama, set to premiere March 31, 2013 on HBO.
To anyone who familiar with the intricate faux-history of Westeros, either as it is unfurling in George R.R. Martin‘s novels or in HBO’s television adaptation, this is a tremendous casting coup — and only one among a long list of actors revealed during Friday’s “Game of Thrones” Comic-Con panel. Via a special casting video, the network also revealed that Mackenzie Crook, best known for his role in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, will be playing Orell, a wildling skinchanger and close ally of Mance Rayder, the King-Beyond-the-Wall and leader of the free folk.
Curiously enough, HBO has yet to reveal which actor has been cast as Mance.
Fans also learned that Thomas Brodie-Sangster will be playing the Crannogman greenseer Jojen Reed, with Ellie Kendrick as his warrior sister Meera Reed. Other casting announcements include:
- Richard Dormer as Beric Dondarrion, The Lightning Lord.
- Paul Kaye as Thoros of Myr.
- Kerry Ingram as Stannis Baratheon’s daughter Shireen.
- Clive Russell as Bryden Tully, aka “The Blackfish,” Catelyn’s uncle.
- Nathalie Emmanuel as Missandei, who crosses paths with Daenerys.
In addition, the fansite WinterisComing.net reported a number of casting announcements confirmed, according to the site, via an e-mail from HBO. Among them the site named Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, another ally of Mance Rayder’s, and Philip McGinley as Anguy, a friend of Dondarrion’s. Other actors mentioned include…
- Tara Fitzgerald as Selyse Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon’s wife .
- Anton Lesser as Qyburn, an important figure in King’s Landing.
- Tobias Menzies as Edmure Tully, Catelyn’s brother.

Comic-Con: George R. R. Martin Really Enjoys Writing Those Game of Thrones Sex Scenes
As the moderator of Comic Con's Game of Thrones panel, series author George R. R. Martin gave a shout-out to the recent Saturday Night Live sketch satirizing the HBO show's frequent nudity and sex scenes. Then he listed all the women Theon Greyjoy has had the pleasure of bedding, and wondered why Theon's portrayer, Alfie Allen, hasn’t personally thanked him for it: "Have I even gotten a box of chocolates? What’s it like doing all those sex scenes?" Allen said they were fine, adding, "I wanted to get in shape for it anyway," so Martin moved on to Richard Madden, who plays Robb Stark. "So Richard, you’ve done a sex scene, too." Madden blushed and said he preferred "swinging a sword." Whoops. Later, when a fan in the audience asked the cast about the most enjoyable scenes they’ve filmed, Allen said he really liked that Theon gave that speech at the end, right before he was knocked out. Martin replied: "So you liked getting hit in the back of the head very hard more than naked sex scenes?" Allen answered, "It was more the acting." Two minutes after that, another person in the crowd asked about the costumes helping them get into character. Here, Martin complained that Daenerys’ Quarthian gown had been altered so as not to expose her breasts. (In the book, one breast is bared proudly.) Emilia Clarke said she personally enjoyed the added warmth. Meanwhile, HBO announced some major Season 3 casting news, including Diana Rigg (The Avengers) as The Queen of Thorns, Mackenzie Crook (The Office) as wildling raider Orell, and Clive Russell as Brydon Tully, a.k.a. The Blackfish. Other additions include Nathalie Emannuel as Missandei), Kerry Ingram as Shireen Baratheon, Paul Kaye as Thoros of Myr, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Jojen Reed, Ellie Kendrick as Meera Reed, Richard Dormer as Beric Dondarrion, Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, Philip McGinley as Anguy, Tara Fitzgerald as Selyse Baratheon, Tobias Menzies as Edmure Tully and Anton Lesser as Qyburn. American Mary is the story of a medical student named Mary who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries, which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.

With anger rising, India’s Sherlyn Chopra tweets nude Playboy pics

The nude shoot has sparked anger among women’s rights advocates in the country, saying that India has already “sexualized” women and the nude shoot will only “heighten the stereotypes.”
Sunita Gudnanti, a social worker who works with battered women in Delhi, told Bikyamasr.com that she is disappointed in Chopra’s decision to do the photo shoot.
“I have heard so many stories of women being beaten up by their spouses or boyfriends because they refused to do something the man read or saw online, so the idea that an Indian woman will go nude for the magazine is likely to sexualize the issue of women’s rights and heighten the stereotypes that women are objects,” she said.
Chopra, who is currently in Los Angeles, announced she would be shooting for the adult magazine this week, and “has already gone through hair and make-up trial sessions.”
The Indian woman has reportedly also taken up shop in Playboy owner Hugh Hefner’s mansion.
When published, Chopra will be the first Indian to grace the cover of the magazine.
She said the shoot will be “explicit,” which Gudnanti argues will be a negative for Indian society.
“We deal with sexual violence towards women on a daily basis here and one of the reasons for this explosion, we believe, is that the media has sexualized and made women objects,” she argued. “Look at Times of India’s website and others, it is full of articles about women and sex, their bodies and images of naked or little clothed women. It is very sad,” she added.
Speaking to Times of India from the US, Chopra said she felt “proud to be the first Indian to do it,” and added, “The youth is racing towards liberalization, and that’s why being unconventional in your choices is no longer a taboo.”
* It's not so much about sexual liberation of Indian women but more about attention-seeking behavior (attention-whore). If a model posted a picture of herself half-naked, a fellow rival will go further by displaying an ass or tits (without nip-shot). Miss Chopra is just the escalation of outdoing each other for attention and subsequent public interest. Veena Malik demanded one million dollars to pose nude in Playboy. Chopra went further by quickly contacting Playboy and setting up the shoot without any thought of possible consequences. And why should she? Where are the women's rights protectors when actress are sexually exploited off the cam and passed around like candy? Out of work and like many failed actress/models in Bollywood was a step away from becoming a call-girl when she decided to fuck it.......she ain't going to let anyone else but herself to determine her future path. Becoming the first Indian celeb to pose in Playboy will immortalized her for a long long time in Indians consciousness. She will be a cult figure. It's just the beginning of a new era of 'real' nudity for Indian women. Just waiting for someone to top Chopra by appearing in a hardcore flick. It could be Miss Sherlyn Chopra herself. As long as there are no drugs involved......
