THE WOLF OF WALL STREETAvoids NC-17 Rating with Edits; Nearly 3-Hour Runtime Confirmed
by Adam Chitwood

The MPAA has had a chance to weigh in on director Martin Scorsese’s latest film, and on first-look they warned the filmmaker that The Wolf of Wall Street was destined for an NC-17 rating.

THR reports that Scorsese “agreed to trim certain scenes of nudity and sex” in order to guarantee an R-rating for the darkly comic drama, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a hard-partying, drug-addicted stockbroker in the 1990s.
UPDATED: Insiders also confirm that Martin Scorsese's film -- starring Leonardo DiCaprio -- runs a minute shy of three hours, making it the longest movie of the 2013 Christmas season.
Director Martin Scorsese's The Wolf Street of Wall Street has garnered an R rating -- instead of the dreaded NC-17 -- after the filmmaker agreed to trim certain nudity and sex scenes, insiders confirm to The Hollywood Reporter.
Initially, the Classification and Ratings Administration Board indicated that Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as disgraced Wall Street broker and hedonistic party boy Jordan Belfort, was destined for the more restrictive rating because of abundant, explicit sex (not to mention drugs).
Scorsese and Paramount, which is distributing the movie in North America, had several exchanges with the ratings board in terms of what was needed to secure an R rating, sources say, although it wasn't immediately clear what was edited out.
Rumors had been swirling for months that Scorsese’s no-holds-barred film ventured well into NC-17 territory, but it appears that he and Paramount Pictures have made some edits in order to ensure that the pic can be seen by wide audiences.  No doubt excessive violence is still A-OK for the MPAA, just as long as no one’s naked—the horror!

Additionally, THR confirms that the runtime of The Wolf of Wall Street is 2 hours and 59 minutes, which officially makes this Scorsese’s longest film ever, besting Casinoby one minute.  Nearly three hours of Scorsese doing dark comedy? Now that’s something to be thankful for.  The film opens nationwide Christmas Day.

I love Scorsese’s films and this one sounds like his most sexiest/nude work. I think Boardwalk Empire pilot would be his best most intense nudity work for many years.

I wrote about it few weeks ago from another Collider article fearing the editing will take out Margot scenes. One guy at IMDB saw the final cut and Margot show plenty of breasts and ass. Hopefully there will be Director's Cut DVD/BR release with full-frontal by the Aussie.

MARGOT ROBBIE

There is an Aussie Mafia in L.A.,” says the 23-year-old actress Margot Robbie, who grew up on the Gold Coast in Queensland and spent much of her childhood in a little country town called Dalby. “And yes, I am very much a part of it.” One of the recent crop of talent from Down Under—Bella Heathcote, Adelaide Clemens, and Elizabeth Debicki, to name a few—Robbie graduated from high school in 2007 and one month later landed a spot on her country’s hottest soap opera, Neighbours. What was meant to be only a guest role she spun into a three-year run. “It was some of the best years of my life,” she says. Now Stateside, Robbie continues to make waves not only by landing the role of a lifetime—she plays Leonardo DiCaprio’s love interest in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, about the real-life fraudster Jordan Belfort—but also by having an offscreen “relationship” with DiCaprio, according to the gossips. “It is definitely my least favorite aspect of this job,” says Robbie of the tabloids. “I just try to take it all with a grain of salt and focus on my work.” This month, Robbie appears in Richard Curtis’s About Time, which was shot in London during the 2012 Summer Olympics, alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, and Bill Nighy. When she isn’t acting, Robbie can be seen skating the ice with L.A.-based hockey team The Assassins. A hot girl who can check? Aussie Mafia must pick their “made” members wisely.
