Possibly great news about Yvonne Strahovski. She's set to star in an indie flick and from the write up on on Amazon sound's interesting as her character is described as a "Femme Fatale"
In a pre-Berlin move, Adrien Brody and Yvonne Strahovski have come on board indie crime thriller “Manhattan Nocturne,” with shooting starting in July.

13 Films will be launching pre-sales next week at the European Film Market in Berlin. Paradigm is packaging and handling North American rights.

Brian DeCubellis will direct from his own script with both DeCubellis and Campbell Scott producing. Scott and Jennifer Beals will also star.

“Manhattan Nocturne,” written by Colin Harrison, was published in 1996. Brody will portray a devoted husband and accomplished journalist who is asked by a seductive stranger (played by Strahovski) to dig into the unsolved murder of her husband.

13 Films is a boutique international sales-acquisitions company headed by Tannaz Anisi and launched at the American Film Market in November. The company plans on acquiring, selling and financing six to eight films a year.

Porter Wren is a Manhattan tabloid writer with an appetite for scandal. On the beat he sells murder, tragedy, and anything that passes for the truth. At home, he is a dedicated husband and father. But when a seductive stranger asks him to dig into the unsolved murder of her husband, he is drawn into a very nasty case of sexual obsession and blackmail--one that threatens his job, his marriage, and his life.
Porter Wren (returning from earlier Harrison novels) is a columnist for a New York daily tabloid, happily married with two kids and a terrifying mortgage, when he's approached at a swank party by a woman who in earlier parlance would have been called a "dame." She's Caroline Crowley, widow of hot young filmmaker Simon Crowley. Not even Wren's native cynicism cues him to Caroline's real intentions until he has compromised himself and his family's safety. Crowley was found mysteriously dead in a Lower East Side lot; more than a year later, his murder remains unsolved, but that doesn't seem to be foremost on Caroline's mind. Her current predicament concerns the monstrous billionaire who owns Wren's paper, and who believes a mystery video that has been turning up repeatedly in his office must be coming from her. All Caroline asks is that Wren find the original video, which has nothing to do with Simon's death. But as Wren was advised years earlier by a washed-up journalist, "It's all one story." Harrison shows the truth of this maxim as he deftly connects dozens of far-flung characters.
A pair of sad, dotty lawyers in Queens, a spurned lover who shot his fiancee, a nanny in Wren's service and as many Manhattan locales into a breathtaking collage.

***I must admit being bored by this book. The writing was good but seemed very deliberate and rather overblown, irritating with name dropping, unnecessarily heavy on sex scenes, and an incredibly weak ending. I found myself nearly quitting several times thinking of all the other really good books waiting on my shelves. Instead it was one I could have not started and not missed.

I actually really liked Harrison's writing style...hm...what else can I say that was positive about this book? Not much. The plot just wasn't there for me, and I know you weren't supposed to necessarily "like" the protagonist, but I still would have liked to not be completely appalled by him. It wasn't even the cheating thing (well, it wasn't entirely the cheating thing). It had a lot to do with how he went about his day to day life as well.
I was hoping for some redeeming quality in this man's thought process, but the most I could come up with was the fact that he never blamed his wife for the affair. The whole him explaining the difference between sex with his wife and sex with his mistress *rolls eyes* whatever.
You might be asking right about now, if I didn't just hate him because of him cheating, why do I keep going on about it? Well, the answer to that it because; SO MUCH OF THE BOOK IS ABOUT THE AFFAIR!! It was hard to remember the fact that you're supposed to be trying to figure out what happened to his mistress' husband. So two stars, and that's being generous, considering how ridiculous the premise of this book is.

This is it, guys. The one we been waiting for. I'm predicting the flick will have Yvonne's first and proper nude scene(s) on-screen. Don't think it would be PG-13 nonsense. The original material doesn't allow it. Should be a talky script with smattering of sex in between to jolt the viewers from boredom. Brody is trying to reclaim his credibility after a string of poor film choices. As for Yvonne, it's time for something really edgy (read:nudity) and a lead role in potentially scenery-chewing performance. I sense an agent's pressure in Yvonne's reading for the role after the script was pushed on her. Age factor at play here. They probably film on location around New York. July is months away so it's possible for Yvonne to show her face in couple of TV-shows/movie before prepping for the sexy role. A needless reminder: Keep an eye on her twitter ; )
