Azalea has gone from relatively unknown singer to a superstar over a very short period of time. She's a big deal internationally but it's only now people in her home country are taking notice of this former Mullumbimby native. Expect the new year to be all about the supercool Iggy.
After just narrowly missing out on the lead role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood took notice of NIDA graduate Sarah Snook. The actress has a number of projects on the boil for 2014, not least of which is a starring role alongside Ethan Hawke in Michael and Peter Spierig's sci-fi thriller, Predestination.
Elizabeth Debicki
She captivated viewers as an unknown newcomer actor playing Jordan Baker in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby but the true test will be what stage actor Elizabeth Debicki does next. The dramatist has spent the past few months of this year making her next film, Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L. E, with Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Hugh Grant.
Having cut her teeth on local soap Neighbours, Stasey is set for a big year. She'll be seen in big-budget action fantasy film, I, Frankenstein, with Aaron Eckhart, Jai Courtney and Bill Nighy. Stasey is also a lead in Alan Cumming's independent film, Chu And Blossom, as well as Lust For Love and All I Need.
