Chinese model "not ashamed" of going plastic to further her career
Chen had previously raised an online storm after penning her frank opinion that the plastic surgery industry in China is "rubbish" as compared to that of South Korea's.
She told reporters that in Korea, patients listen to the doctor's advice. In contrast, doctors in China give patients whatever they want, without considering whether the procedures are suitable for the patient.
Now she has revealed a series of photos that shows her undergoing multiple plastic surgery procedures in Korea.
According to an article in Asian Town, she went under the knife to become more beautiful, in hopes that this will be a boost to her modelling career.
She reportedly underwent surgery on her face, eyes, waist and legs. She had procedures done to make her eyes bigger, breasts bigger and fat sucked out of her problem areas. According to Sohu.com, she even underwent hymen repair surgery.
In total, she had more than 10 surgeries done at several different clinics.
She told reporters that she is not afraid about talking about her plastic surgery procedures, and nor is she worried if any men in her life take issue with it.
"If he truly loves me, he will not mind. If he only loves my body, and not my spirit, mind and me as a whole person, I will not want this type of man even if you gave him to me," she said.
Some have slammed her for being a slave to fame, while others have praised her for having the courage to come out about her plastic surgery history.
On the criticism leveled at her, Chen said that she does not see plastic surgery as a secret one should be ashamed to talk about, but rather as a reflection of a positive attitude towards life and a willingness to work hard.
"I seek beauty, and I am willing to let people see me transform through my own efforts - this is not something to be ashamed of admitting," she said.
