Did Scorsese ‘extend’ actress’ legs in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’?
Filmmakers have been accused of 'digitally extending' actress Margot Robbie's legs throughout 'The Wolf of Wall Street.'
Those perfect pins may be a tall tale.

Hollywood filmmakers are using computer tricks to “digitally extend” female stars’ legs to look long and thin — and “The Wolf of Wall Street” actress Margot Robbie may be the latest victim, critics and special-effects pros said.

In the scene in question, the blond bombshell, who plays the wife of Leonardo DiCaprio’s hedonistic stock-broker character, bares a pair of sexy gams while coyly pushing away her hubby’s head with a high heel.

But the 5-foot-6 actress’ image looks “impossibly long-legged” and was likely lengthened for the scene by a Photoshop-style editing program, movie bloggers claim.

Editors who perform “digital surgeries” on stars in the hit film may have stretched footage to achieve a slimmed-down look, the Sunday Times of London reported. “[It’s] like a funhouse mirror, so everyone looks tall and thin,” one post-production expert told the paper.

A company called Lola Visual Effects studio says “cleaned up” actors’ images in the Martin Scorsese film, which was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor.

A rep declined to say whether Robbie’s legs had been fudged but revealed film honchos initially planned to tweak the star’s face. Movie makers planned to enhance Robbie’s eyes, but scrapped the idea after seeing her baby blues in real life, the special-effects maker said.

“I do know they wanted to accentuate her blue eyes until they realized she really has amazing eyes,” said the graphics man, who declined to be identified.

Robbie, 23, would have been upset if she had known filmmakers planned to change her image, said a source close to the star.

And the Australian actress herself has remarked on Hollywood’s unrealistic standards of beauty.
“When you look at movies. The lead girl is always gorgeous and thin. There is a stereotype that you need to look a certain way, and when you get into the business, you really feel the pressure,” she has said.

She’s not the only star apparently subjected to the Stretch Legstrong treatment.

At 5-foot-4 in real life, Britney Spears was elongated three inches in a recent TV documentary, the Sunday Times reported.

Actresses often have no clue they’ll be stretched until after the flick hits theaters, sources said.

Lola Visual Effects also “cleaned up” actors in the movie “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”
